They're giving games for free just to entice people even more at this point. ![]() I just cant tolerate buying a game from a platform that cant even let you take screenshots let alone share them on the platform and a platform without a shopping cart, and one that has to rely on giving reviewer's seperate epic accounts so they can actually play a game early. Originally posted by KingCollo97:To be honest, I would still add it to my account and download and play it, but if it comes out on Steam later on, I'd buy it There's SO many ways to get your game out there, and going with epic is the most hated route because epic is just the rich kid that gets into college way too early by buying his way in, and dosen't even know everything about the industry so just turns in a quarter of the amount of work ethic steam does, but epic can still bribe some of the kids who are in student loan debt. On top of that, there are a few ways of raising funds you might not know about, asking investors (like the developer of ooblets was previously funded by doublefine and microsoft but still thinks epic's screw you money is worth the backlash), making a patreon (which ooblets has even though they took epic's screw you money), making a kickstarter (like so many indies do these days and somehow say "woops we didn't say we'd be on steam, we're going on epic only instead hahaha" like shenmue 3 did), doing a developer livestream with donations on, etc etc. ![]() Ask the developer or DARQ on why he went to steam only. Triple A publishers get away with being on epic and other platforms. Epic is dissalowing indies from doing so and forcing them to be exclusives, and is giving them "screw you" money just so they can outweigh consumer backlash/boycotts. ![]() security can be achieved by diversifying your platform offerings. GoG, humble, nor Steam were offering security and prosperity like Epic was, Epic won in that competition.
